ashes
ashes
These ashes remind me of stalagmites.

When I came back from my walk this morning, I decided to burn my trash. I walked over to the burning barrel, and I noticed ashes on the ground from previous burnings. It used to be a nice pile of them…but after the rains…the pile is diminishing.

The formation and texture of the ashes reminded me of stalagmites in caves. Crazy cool looking I thought. I had to go back into the house and get my camera.

To me…the ashes are breathtakingly beautiful. I stood there and stared at them for a moment.

It made me think of how Father says in His word that He will give us a crown of beauty instead of ashes.

I think these ashes are fantastic. So artistic in the texture but also the colors. The variety of colors from white to black and the grays in between.

Man…I was so thankful Father wanted me to burn the trash this morning. Had I not…I might have missed such a beautiful piece of natural artwork right there at the burning barrel.

I find it fascinating how the rain pushed some of the ashes down while leaving others standing. Mind-blowing to me how beauty is in the world around you if you have the eyes to see it.

Natural Beauty

It reminded me of all the caves I have been in. Love caving. Such a fun adventure to have. Downside…they are always so COLD.

It also reminded me of a time when the kids and I were in Florida at a friend’s house. She was telling me down the road was a park that had a bay where the Manatees would come in and rub their bellies on the rocks. I was SOLD! Let’s go. The kids and I drove over and took the little hike out over the water and sure enough…there were two momma manatees and their babies. Spectacular experience to get to be a few feet from manatees in the wild. I have seen them in captivity before at Sea World a couple of times but never in the wild like that.

While we were there…the park was full of Cypress trees. All the knobby knees sticking up out of the water were hauntingly beautiful. They too…reminded me of stalagmites coming up from the bottom of the caves.

Natural beauty is stunning. Especially when you least expect it like from these ashes this morning. Took my breath away as I gasped at the sight of them.

It was such a powerful lesson for me this morning. Father can take something absolutely horrible…devastating…destructive…and turn it into something beautiful. Not only can He give us beauty instead of ashes…He can build something breathtakingly beautiful out of those ashes. So glad I burned all of those papers up…I got something beautiful as a gift in return.

How about them apples???? 😂 Pretty good stuff heh?

Have a marvy day! 😍
