This morning, I did a little babysitting for the grandkids. Vanessa had an appointment. I absolutely LOVE generational parenting. It is the BEST! Hands down…WAY better than parenting your own children. Little responsibility and lots of fun. So many perks to grandparenting!! 💙 The love…is crazy good. I am amazed at how much you can love a little child when you reach through the heart of your own children into the next generation. Beautiful love…for sure.
Last night, Vanessa was concerned about how Archer would do leaving him behind. He is quite the momma’s boy. Super clingy.
I kept reassuring her…he will be fine. I got this. She wasn’t convinced. 🤣
I finally said to her…ok…let’s do this.
You take the truck to the appointment…leaving your car with the car seat for me. IF he throws a fit and cries for an extended length of time…I will buckle him up and drive to your appointment.
She lit up with a big ole smile.
I knew we were golden then. She agreed. It was an acceptable solution.
No Tears
He didn’t even notice she left. No tears.
We played and got along fine.
Midmorning…he was getting a little sleepy looking so I sat down in Bobbi’s new glider rocking chair. The thing is SWEET! Loving the new chair.
As soon as I started rocking…he melted in my arms. He decided…he liked the rocker too. In minutes, little Archer Aspen was snoozing in dreamland.
I sent momma snaps all morning long of him happily playing or snoozing peacefully in my arms. Happy boy…happy momma…happy grandma.
It was a grand morning all around.
Babysitting the Dinosaur
This afternoon, I am babysitting Ahnalaya Ann’s new dinosaur. Tia…Aunt Bobbi…SPOILS the kiddos. She bought her this new dino…and those little animals you see in the dino’s mouth. Bobbi allows her to open one new animal package every morning while she is here. She is feeding the animals to her dino. 🤣 In this photo, he is eating two lions and one wild boar. Tomorrow…we will add another animal to his diet.
The kids and grands went to the grocery store this afternoon. I opted to stay home. I need my ME time. 😎
Car Seat
Last night, I went to the grocery store to get some food for last night’s dinner. Ahnalaya Ann wanted to go with me. My favorite local grocery store is Schnucks. It takes maybe six or seven minutes to get there. Not far.
The entire way there…Ahnalaya Ann lectured me…I did not tighten her seat belt tight enough in her car seat. Therefore, she was not safe. Mom and dad buckle her up TIGHTER than I did. 😳🤨🤣
Although I reassured her she was safely buckled up…she disagreed.
Guess what was the first thing she said to Vanessa when we got back home?
Yep…the whole drama.
When we got to Schnucks, and I was pulling her out of the car seat…I told her…if you don’t quit whining to me…I am not taking you with me anymore. Didn’t faze the child. The sass!!!
The joys of grandparenting!!! Watching a new generation grow up and mature. Always an adventure…daily.
A privilege…100%. 💙❤️
