Lavender Fields

lavender fields, grandchildren, nature portrait

I recently visited a lavender farm in Northern Michigan. The air smelled heavenly with the lavender scent. I was enthralled. Just pulling in and seeing all the lavender plants made me smile. I kept telling Vanessa…this was such a good idea.

While at the Traverse City Cherry Festival, I came upon a young woman named Ava who worked at this farm. I had a ton of questions for her and later told her…I am going to visit the farm to check it out.

While there, I snapped a TON of pictures. These are a few of the ones I took of the lavender flowers. For me…it is hard to pick a favorite pic…I liked all of these, so I am posting them all. I figure it is my site…so why not? Who says I shouldn’t or couldn’t??? I am excessive so it fits my personality and who I am.

Lavender

I like to use lavender in my teas or just drink straight lavender tea. I am a huge fan of the flavor…not just the color and smell.

Father has been speaking to me a lot recently about lavender. It has some significance in my life, but I am still unsure how or why. Still waiting on Him to speak clearly to me so I know what He is saying. At this point, He is NOT clear, so I am still pondering why I keep seeing and hearing about lavender. I am finding the color to be very soothing to my soul for some reason. It is light and very gentle. Super soft and quiet, not boisterous and loud. I need gentle, soft, quiet, and light right now. LOL.

Soothing is always good. The color feels like a gentle massage. Wonderful. Sounds crazy and weird I know. That is me. 🤣

The Red Barn

I rarely see red barns anymore. Especially wooden barns. I typically see metal machine sheds these days. It was wonderful to see an old red barn especially one with such characteristics as this one.

Both sets of my grandparents were farmers. I remember playing in the corn crib as I young child. After my grandfather passed away, his farm was sold at an auction.

Several years later, while I was in the area, I visited my great uncle who lived just down the road from my grandfather’s farm. I decided to drive past the farm.

It had completely changed. The house and all the old buildings had been torn down and a new house was standing in the place of the old one.

That was a hard scene to see. Changes can be painful at times. The old has passed and the new has come.

I am super thankful we have the promise of…if we choose eternal life in Christ…all those who have chosen Him for life as well…get to spend eternity together. No more separation of families. His blood family will spend forever together in Heaven.

Love this plan. A whole new family through His blood. I will love my new relatives through His heart and His love. Beautiful!

red barn
This red barn was super cool I thought. I especially like the mural painted along the retaining wall. So much charm all in one place.😎
