When I was packing for my trip, in my head…jeans, hiking boots, and my hiking hat. There ya go…that is my wardrobe. I am good to go.

BUT…when I stood in front of my clothes…Father said…take nice clothes and dress up.

Excuse me??? Are you serious? You can’t be serious.

I was thinking…how I am going to pound the concrete pavement NOT in my hiking boots? My feet, legs, knees, hips, and back LOVE my hiking boots. They are all best friends. COMFORTABLE with one another. It is all about comfort here. 😳

He wasn’t budging. Dress pants. Sigh. Ok. 🤷‍♀️

This trip is momentous. Paramount. It begins the freedom march. The freedom walk. The Second Exodus. My freedom tour…which starts man’s freedom tour. More on that later. We are preparing for the beginning of something the world has never seen or experienced ever before. I am walking on sacred ground here. Something holy. Calls for a nicer look than jeans and boots. So…I snapped some selfies to memorialize the occasion for me and for the masses that will see this in the future.

My frontside. I wish you could have seen Hannah teaching me how to take a selfie in the mirror like this. Thankful she was patient. A comedy routine.😂

My sassy backside.🤣 Gotta see it all man.

Productive Day

Today was a MUCH better day than yesterday afternoon and evening. WOWSER BOWSER man…so much better. Had a wonderful day.

Korean War Memorial
I love the details in these works of art.

Before I fell asleep last night, He said to me…go early in the morning to beat the crowds. I thought it was brilliant. He is a genius. So smart. Look at Him go!!! 😜

I was all good with this idea…but I was so over the city…I didn’t want to go back. To me…hanging in the hotel room sounded like a GREAT plan. I said to Him…then you need to wake me up early…and give me the desire to get back in the city. He did on both counts.

I typed up my blog post, hopped in the shower, and was leaving the hotel at sunrise.

NO problems with parking. Got to cherry-pick my parking spot. WONDERFUL!

Another great perk of going early was…very few people in my way. LOVED it. My first stop was the Lincoln Memorial. Pictures of that to follow. It is a very important post. He had much to say while I was there. So much pain. Made me cry. So much work ahead of us yet. More on that later.

Motorcyclist

I went through the nearby memorials again. Had a great conversation with a motorcyclist. I noticed the man in his gear and started chatting with him. He is a Harley man. Lots of those out there. He was telling me he wrecked one of his motorcycles last month and came out alive because of his gear.

Just another confirmation of how important safety gear is. We met at the Korean War Memorial and went our separate ways at the Vietnam Wall.

One of the things I love about traveling is the wonderful conversations I have with total strangers. Just fills me with joy to have random chats with random people. 🤣

Mom and Son

Had a neat convo with a woman today. While at the Freedom Wall, I was waiting on a group of teenage boys to get out of the shot. I was patiently waiting to get the break I needed. The people were starting to pour in. A teenage boy noticed I was waiting so he started motioning for the group to come over to him and out of my way. SUPER sweet of him. Observant and considerate. I smiled at him and mouthed thank you.

There was a woman walking up to the group and she noticed what he was doing as well. I saw her watching him…but she didn’t see me…watching her.

Later…we met up again. She shared with me…it was her son. Even though she didn’t have her camera with her, she was a fellow photographer. Her son was used to mom waiting on shots as well. He KNEW the routine. Funny! I loved the stories and the camaraderie with her. 😍

Nicely done.

Vietnam Wall

I gotta say…I am loving the photos I took at the Vietnam Wall. This is my third time at the wall. This time, I wanted to take some artistic feeling photos. Something pleasing to my eyes…and heart. I chose to use the leading lines.

Only one couple came through while I was taking my photos. It was blissful. Peace, quiet, no distractions, no rush, and I was in no one’s way. Wonderful.

I enjoy the angles in this photo. The sun and the reflection of it on the sidewalk remind me of how man…is supposed to reflect the Son. The work of the hands of man…is supposed to be for Him…to give Him the glory. Reflect His glory. See?

NO one in the photo. Isn’t that great? I beat the crowds.💙

I LOVE how the sun made the reflection possible. Goodness…that is rich. It is like a mirror. It is a picture of life and death coming together. Becoming one.

Father and I had a sweet day together. He has much to say about Washington DC, the nation, the world, and His children. Hoping to add what He is saying as I go along. I learned after I leave Washington, I gotta head to the Liberty Bell…ring the bell spiritually speaking. Time for Liberty to reign throughout the land.

Thinking I may end up at a battlefield too before this tour ends. He hasn’t confirmed that yet but I am suspecting it. It is feeling true…but I will see soon.

Love, life, and blessings to you!
