Yesterday I got to spend the day exploring Michigan. When we visited the lavender farm, I wanted to continue north and head to the lighthouse just down the road. We ran out of time, so I pinned it in my head for another date and time. After running some errands in Traverse City, I decided now was the time.
I was surprised at how short the lighthouse was. Lighthouses are a must-see for me so I have been to many of them over the years. I am used to seeing tall towers. This is a house with a light on it. So funny. I wasn’t expecting that.
I took the picture from this angle because it was really the only angle that I found interesting. Sad but true. Just wasn’t feeling any other view. So I went with it. 😂
I wanted to use the handrails and the steps as a leading line. I also kind of like the pattern and symmetry I could see with the angle of the handrails and the angle of the roof on the house. Caught my eye and it was pleasing to me so I shot it.
Macro on the Beach
This flower looked interesting to me. A super plus was the lavender color in it. I thought it was pretty in a understated kind of way. These flowers were growing in the sand in the shade. Made a great place to practice photography instead of the hot sun. The sand was cool on my knees as I planted myself down on the sand.
In the pictures below, I was looking over the beach from the lighthouse and noticed this couple sitting along the shore line. It was a sweet picture in my mind so I zoomed in and captured one of their moments.
The videos I share below are short clips of my time at the beach. Placing them here because they were pleasing to me. 😍
