One day, I wanted to practice still-life photography. While trying to figure out what I could practice on…I was looking around the house and saw Mitchell’s little owl. To me…this little dude is CUTE! Still-life photography is not really my thing, but I want to learn…and grow…push myself to figure it out and improve in that area. I love this picture of Mitchell’s mini owl.
The eyes of an owl are beautiful…so piercing. Then the fact they can turn their heads like they do…fascinating to me. Watching owls blink is even better. So cool to see. Very endearing to me. ❤️
I have a story. Kind of funny for the kids and I…and it IS about an owl. So, it fits here. 😜
I used to have a flock of chickens when I lived in the country. Midmorning, I heard a ruckus outside. I am an investigator…so I went to the front door. As I opened the door…CHAOS ensued.
The entire flock of chickens…screaming! While screaming and flapping their wings, they ran crazily into my house…I look up and there is an owl dive-bombing them…hoping to get a meal out of one of our little henny girls.
With the opening of the door and the girls running into the house, the owl’s attack was thwarted. Now…the clean-up. The kids and I go through the house trying to find all the chickens…taking them back outside…along with lost feathers.
About an hour later, I go into the bathroom, and behind the toilet, under the tank…sat a Barred Rock hen. She had quietly roosted behind the toilet. She was so peaceful there. 🤣
I enlisted Donovan to take her back out…he was our chicken catcher.
I will never forget our little chicken and owl commotion. The kids and I had a good laugh about it. 💙
